just installed and trying to use the PTZ functions. all 8 direction arrows are self explanatory, but what is the middle button for? it has a symbol like a reload circular arrow in it and when pressed, the camera does a strange range of motions that seems to have no pattern. Also, is there a way that allows the camera to scan through the presets you've set up?

The middle button with the circular arrow symbol is typically used for performing an "auto-pan" or automatic tour function, which allows the camera to execute a preset pattern of movements. This may involve the camera moving through a range of motions automatically, which can appear random if it hasn't been set up with specific waypoints or patterns yet.
As for scanning through presets you've set up, many PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) cameras offer a feature called "tour" or "patrol," which allows you to set up a series of preset positions and have the camera move between them automatically. You'll need to configure these settings in the camera's application or interface. Be sure to check the user manual or the help section of the HiP2P Client software for guidance on setting up tours or patrols with your specific camera model.

SAME HERE, Just started with mine 2 days ago..1/28/25... uninstalled app, reinstalled it, no good. Has live sound, SD card still recording, but blank screen...Smart phone, no problems....Even tried a newer version of the app on PC, same problem...Have Windows 11 pro... Worked great before this occurred...
If you have installed the HiP2P Client on your new laptop and you are experiencing issues with having sound but no video from the connected cameras, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:
Check Camera Connections: Ensure that the cameras are properly connected to the network and powered on. Verify all connections and cables.
Update Software: Check if there is an update available for the HiP2P Client and install it. Software updates can sometimes resolve compatibility or performance issues.
Check Video Settings: Go into the HiP2P Client settings and ensure that the video settings are correctly configured. Make sure the video feed from your cameras is enabled.
Firewall/Antivirus Settings: Sometimes firewalls or antivirus software can block video streams. Check the settings to make sure HiP2P Client is allowed to receive video data.
Camera Compatibility: Ensure that your cameras are compatible with the HiP2P Client and check for any specific model settings that may need to be adjusted.
Network Issues: If possible, test the connection with a different network to rule out network-related issues. A slow or congested network could affect video transmission.
Reinstall the Software: As a last resort, uninstall and then reinstall the HiP2P Client, and set up the cameras again.
If none of these steps work, consider reaching out to the software's customer support for further assistance.
I have the HIP2P app on my computer and get "Error password". The cameras connect to my phone with no issues.

The same has happened to me. I still cannot access.
As far as I know, there's no HiP2P version designed to work on Mac operating systems. Furthermore, it appears that the application has been discontinued, so there probably won't be any Mac version coming any time soon. However, if you have the installer saved, you could try setting up a Windows emulator such as Boot Camp or Winebottler on your Mac, then installing the application through that emulator.
I was getting this connection failure every 5-10 secs on my log. I was told my camera did NOT answer the Keep Alive in time. I changed my connect time to 30 secs on the "Other Settings" panel. This quieted down the log entries and does not impact your recording/monitoring of the camera. The timeout ranges may be different by manufacturer and model or firmware versions.
I am getting the same problem, there is no solution, i have been in contact with iegeek and they say user name is admin and password remains empty. there must be a fault in the software

Camera is working on my phone App. No image on HiP2P. UID shows in video box. Image works fine in IE
You can try connecting the camera by right mouse click on the camera and choose connect or disconnect. This is from the Preview panel.
